A number of folks on this forum have requested grinding gear for the TW-90 so we're going to give that a try. I've posted flat platens and platen chillers for the TW-90 in the appropriate sub forum.

I have also received requests for flat platens made of D2 rather than A2. There is some difficulty doing a good job machining that end radius in D2 (it's a 2" finish cut to prevent steps and the cutting forces in D2 are high, I get a nasty chattered finish when I try). However, since a lot of folks aren't using that end radius and simply want a hard steel platen I thought I'd give these a try with PFG in the OEM 3/8" thickness without end radius and with regular threaded through holes. These will not work for the lengthwise grind but the D2 will wear better than A2. Rusts less too, if you're using it wet. So there are D2 platens for both the KMG and now the TW-90 too.

I'm posting this here because folks from this forum requested these and this is the best way to get the information out there. Please keep discussion about price and other commerce out of this thread or it will get locked.

I apologize for the disruption and I return you to your regularly scheduled steel mangling... :D

Edit: whoops. Wrong post... didn't see which forum I was in :X. These look great!
