hello guys hope your all well
so I have not had a computer in a while and I just got one so yea for me im back
im mark I own and operate extreme edge custom kydex and knives I primarily do custom kydex sheaths and the occasional holster but recently I have made the decision to add custom knives to the list
in any case I picked up 6 ft bars of 1095HR in 1" 1 1/2" and 2" i have already profiled them all out and i have 24 blanks ready for sanding a bevel
i have a stand up 1x42 belt sander with a fully adjustable deck so im new at this these being my first knives ever and all new tools to me anyway
here is my current issue i am setting my deck to inverted 10 degrees attach my blank to a piece of wood and i go to town sanding i do dip it in water every other pass now why is it when i turn the blank around to do the other side the angle of the bevel changes and the grinds don't match any advice on this would be greatly appreciated
thank you
mark

You will unconsciously exert more pressure with one hand than the other hence the uneven grinds. Keep practicing.

It helps when you're beginning to always start each stage of grinding on your off side, but in reality it is best to just realize the issue it presents and practice to eliminate it.

I didn't get fully comfortable on both sides until well past 100 blades.

hmm you guys really think that's it ? hmm wish I could attach pictures
thanks im going to keep at it guys I will let you all know how it works out for me thanks for all the responses
