Generic Helly Hansen

I heard a rumor. After the Helly Hansen company got bought out by one of those big global conglomerates in 1997 and started rasing their prices, a group of HH employees left and started their own company. They basically made HH stuff under a new name at a reasonable price.

Is their any truth to this and if so what is the name of the company?
