When I think of gentleman folder, my go to is a Jeff Hall, Nemesis Knives Imp.

It has a blade just around 2", and there are silver G10, ebony, bocote and palm wood handle options.

Here's a pic of the bocote wood handled version.

Steel is VG10, very sharp.

I decided to go with both the al mar hawk and the fallknives tk3. i'll just save for a couple of extra paychecks.

I really like the al mar, mostly the MOP, but i'm also really curious about owning a convex grind, and i'm sure i'll like the fallkniven a lot. i'm trying now to document myself a little about sharpening a convex edge..... seems not too hard... sure it will be a good cutter.

i'm about to leave for a long weekend camping (oregon coast)... gotta go retouch the edge of my shadow IV & endura....

I'd definitely buy another Case SS or Schatt & Morgan 420 steel knife. It's hard to overcome that initial steel prejudice until you've owned one and come to love it.

Very true! I was hesitant to get a Case because of what I had heard about their SS. Now I have several! While not the greatest, much like SAk stainless, it gets the job done and is easy to sharpen.
