Gentleman's folder as gift - smaller than Sage bigger than DFly???

You guys are right about the Kopa... it is the right size and it's special! I think just a bit too rich, though, for my budget on this gift. But definitely a perfect choice otherwise for what I'm looking for!

Oh man... both Cats that I ordered arrived today. WOW. They're like mini-Sage 1's. These are exactly what I was looking for as a classy, high quality, moderately-priced, small but still ample-sized gentleman's knife - for a gift. S30V. Carbon fiber. Spyderco build. Small, light, and handy, but ample in the hand with a great FFG cutting edge. Around $50. That's impressive!

I like them so much, I don't want to give either of them away! (Feel like a horder!) ;) Guess I'll have to order ANOTHER one.

I have to say, now that I have one, that the Cat is possibly my favorite knife. This week anyway. ;)

A week ago or so I received a new UKPK (Penknife) with green G-10 handle and today an Urban Leaf Green G-10.

Wow... I'm surprised at how nice these knives are. Somehow I wasn't thinking I would like them as much as I do. The spring pressure is quite stout, making these feel nearly as secure as a locking knife. In using them, I'm not missing the lock at all. The build quality is simply superb, just flawless and soooo precision fit. And, of course, the edges are razor sharp!

The Urban is THE knife I was seeking out when I started this thread... something larger than a D'Fly but smaller than the Sage. Now, if Spyderco made a knife the exact same size and materials (VG-10 and G-10 scales) as the Urban Leaf with a lock (or revived the expired Cat)... I think that knife would be immensely popular.

The Urban Leaf is almost identical in size and shape to the Cat. And it is this size that I find pretty much perfect in size and capability for an EDC... just big enough to fill the hand with plenty of superb cutting edge for most EDC tasks. I'm just LOVING my Cat and Urban Leaf! Thank you SAL!

Sounds like you already found what you needed. I was going to say a while back you could find certain Kopa's in the $70-$80 range. I got one of the Pearl/Abalone for my Father in law and it was a steal at $85 shipped.

Also, the Caly3 is smaller than the Sage1 in every way except blade length. If the Sage is to large for some of my smaller and tighter pockets, the Caly3 CF get's the call.

The Rookie has a 3" blade, but is only about 3.7" long. It makes the Caly3 look cumbersome.
I'd like a similar knife, but about 3 5/8" long and a slightly shorter blade - say 2.75" - that would be great.
