Gentleman's knife gift for under $150..Ready..Go!

A bit over your budget (running about $170) but a very classy modern-look knife is the Benchmade 470. A 3-inch S30V blade, aluminum handle. Not too big for dress-up carry.

As far as a gentleman's folder is concerned I second (or is it third by now) the recommendation for a Mcusta.
Some others to consider are:
Case, Queen, GEC (or any of their spin-offs) slipjoint. Many options of style, blade steel and handle material
Kershaw Nakamura. It is discontinued, but one pops up on the evil-bay every once in a while
Kershaw Splinter. It is discontinued too, but easier to track down
Benchmade Shoki
Spyderco Kiwi or Kopa
Theirs Coutellerie Chambriard
And that Boker Elegance sure looks good and is affordable to boot.
Good luck on the search

I stand corrected. I was under the impression that CA had a statewide blade length law and I can't find a limit for Santa Barbara. Thanks for the correction. That makes the decision a little more interesting since there are a lot of awesome 3+ blade folders out there.

Kershaw/Ken Onion Ripple?

Kershaw currently produces something very similar to the Nakamura, but with black scales.

Both are availible at Wal-Mart.

I am turning 50 this summer and I'd be very happy if my son gets me this. :)
