Well, we haven't done this one in a while, either.

"Gentleman Tactical".

What does it look like?

Obviously I'm looking for opinions, because we might all be able to agree that some knives fit this category, we will never all agree about all the knives that might fit this category. Just the pros and cons about carbon fiber versus pearl versus wood could fill a book.

So what do you think a "gentleman's tactical" knife looks like?

Pictures are always appreciated. I'm sure we've done this thread before (what thread has Bladeforums NOT done?), but any reason for knife porn!

I got you, my friend.

Walking stick sword, or baton stick sword. Gentlemen carry penknives, might get away with a dandy folder like CRK Mnandi.
Otherwise its the hunting knife (an upgrade to the Boys Scouts knife) bought at the same time as the Webley.

Benchmade Crooked River is a good one if you're a large gentleman or go with silk suspenders with your suit, rather than a belt.

Mcusta Tactility is another.

One that has eluded me, but I will one day own is the Paul Defender. Lone Wolf made them for awhile then Benchmade pulled a Cruella DeVille and euthanized the whole line (I won't forget Benchmade, I won't forget.)

Not easy... for me "gentleman" does not necessarily mean "dandy" :) and "tactical" - we have discussed a lot :D- doesn't mean very much to me as a category for knives in general. All my knives are "strategical" instead :D. To try to play the game anyway, the best items I own, which can fit this definition are probably these two:

Darrel Ralph does it...

And I do too...

In my opinion, "Gentleman's" and "Tactical" are at opposite poles. "Gentleman's", implies, civilized, unthreatening, precise, and stealthy. "Tactical", implies the exact opposite. Anything, that is a equally both, would probably just be classified as "a" knife.

This would be the perfect compromise, between "Gentleman's" and "Tactical"

Unless, it's something like this
