KFC, UMMM, UMMM, good! The Colonel sure makes a mean bird. Good stuff, bring it on! But please, no beatings with the drumstick. :D

I didn't realize it was taboo to mention FORD in a NASCAR thread considering they are running in the series also. I was just trying to point out that a good old home grown car manufacuterer (FORD) is doing great in another demanding racing series too. Sorry for trying to point that out..... I didn't know I could only discuss Chevy or Dodge. What are you going to do when Toyota starts running?

Sorry for the controvery period. I just got on this site yesterday due to my love of knives and my sons prompting that I'd have fun here. I didn't realize there were so many closed minded people here who seem a bit angry.

Years ago when Pontiac was big dog in NASCAR [early '60's ] I had a friend that had one as his personal showboat. Bigger air-bag than me too.
Ford whipped-a$$ at Charlotte & Monday morning he came in the shop sad & hung-faced. When timing was right ,I said ' Bobby, they disqualified the winning Ford as illegal ."

" I knowed it. Cheatin' bastards ."

"Bobby, it was a 6 cylinder . "

Uncle Alan [ still on his shix list ]

Nascar Pres Bill France said some very unfortunate stuff recently, I won't quote what he said but it is almost bad enough to make me say "no thanks" to Nascar's product.

That being said, GO DALE JR!!!!!!

Welcome WRC, you will have fun and you'll get use to us.:) There's Found On Road Dead people and Chevrolet people...kind of like cat people and dog people for example. If Toyota runs it would be really interesting!;)

Stewart was a bad boy. Naughty boy was sent to the back of the field for practicing something he earlier denounced .

Uncle Alan,
Jeez!
I was waitin' for you to post as your posts are far more interesting than mine.
We've managed to get rid of the other "I hate NASCAR" folks off of our thread. They got their own Rally or Formula 1 thread.
I just root for JR and Smoke and post race results after it's over.
No race next week just the Busch,Mexico City road race, but I say we just keep this NASCAR season on this thread.
If it's OK with the mods?
I truly enjoy your NASCAR observations and who knows, maybe your girlfriend Cindy will post to,she does sometimes.
Off topic but howz' your cataracts?

I enjoy fans with knowledge & spirit. You post very well.

Cataracts are still forming but I can limit night driving & delay their removal. I've had 4 major surgeries, two on my spine & a few minor ones. Not too keen for anymore but if they get ripe ,we'll get 'em done.

Thanks for asking.

Uncle Alan :)

Is it me or why is Kyle Petty racing every year and never ever, winning a race??? I'm glad the Petty name is on the track but I know he's got to be bald headed by now from wearing his safety helmet and running in circles and I think Richard Petty needs to get a box of Goodys Powders himself and turn some of these races on their ears. Anybody have any imput on that? :)

About the time of your birth lived a man,Andy Granatelli who loved racing. He had a turbine powered car leading at Indy [ tearing up records , I believe ] when a $2.95 bearing failure put his car out of the race.Coincidentally,Andy was a big wheel at " Scientifically Treated Petroleum " Aka STP.
New scenario next........

STP sponsors Petty enterprises & they are big dog at the track.

STP sales dwindle...
Petty hangs up his helmet...
Somewhere in this time frame, Kyle racks up several victories.
Richard's brother [CRS attack ] Maurice [?] quits the team & the downward spiral continues...

Kyle & the whole Petty family are very civic minded. Witness Kyle's Kids Ranch style program. His bike rides...
Team showed marked improvement but have been snake-bit like many others.

Richard wasn't always reed-thin. He had stomach surgery many years ago. It was attributed to taking TOO many analgesics. [sp]

Those were the days,my friend....

Petty Racing has had some lean times lately. A large part of that is related to the tragic loss of Adam Petty who, it was believed, was going to spend a lot of time in victory lane. Petty fans shouldn't fret, though. They have some top-notch personnel on board, like Robbie Loomis as director of racing operations, and Fast Bobby Labonte driving the 43 car. I predict you will see the 43 car in victory lane this year.

Thanks Uncle Alan and Mycroft!:) I knew Kyle had been racing for so very long and no victories, when his son, Adam, was killed on the race track (trial run I believe?) I wondered if Kyle was chasing Adam somehow when I watched the race this past weekend.:( Well, my buddy Earnhardt Jr. opened that southern mouth and I had to squeal with that thick drawl he has, I did hear him say damn. :D :D :D

My brain's been out to lunch for some time, due to my grandkids rant. What's with NASCAR building a " Racing Temple "? Where's the money coming from ? NASCAR ?
In a pig's eye !
What is the real purpose in this ?

Uncle [ ]Alan

Nobody posted!
Jimmie Johnson went high and passed Matt Kenseth in the final turn to win at Vegas. It was the only lap he led.
