Perfect EDC for the person who wants something really different, yet very functional.
This is the "gents" size cotton sampler.
This pattern is not common and has never been made in a size you can carry, as far as my research can tell.

This pattern is not for everyone. It's an old style cotton sampler in a modern carry size. The premium stag is also not typical to this pattern.
It is very functional and EDC useful.
The hard part will be your friends trying to get it from you when you carry it.
Comes with a soft leather sheath which has a belt clip.
Ships in 24 hours.

Thank you for looking.

Keep Care,

Pappy

I'm a bit confused. I was under the impression that the knives in the "makers" area are hand made. Yet you have several very nice looking knives listed stating they are "1 of 100".

Would you be able to explain how your knives are made?

Thanks,
Peter

Peter,

My knives fall into the classification of "handmades"

It is myself and three men that work for me part time that do the work here in Amherst.
We grind our own blades.
We prepare our own parts, some are wire edm'd and some are hand milled, depending on the pattern.
The handle material is all cut here if it is stag or ivory. All our handle material is selected and prepared by me personally.
Each knife is then assembled, one at a time, by hand, completely.
We clean up and straighten all the parts by hand. De-burr everything by hand.
We don't use rivet machines, we hand place all the pins and hand peen them so that there is not too much tension on the surrounding materials.
Because the handle materials are all different and unique, each knife is treated and made differently.
We don't produce thousands of knives in a day. We may make three or four if we're lucky.
All the designs are mine and are meticulously researched.
The blades are hand-rubbed with a series of grits. Many of our bolsters are also hand-rubbed. Everything is fitted very carefully.
If we took apart two of our finished knives, parts could not be interchanged as each knife is hand-worked on its own.

The amount of hand-work that goes into our knives is un-real. And we are not much different that some of the better known custom makers that do limited editions and short runs. Our largest run of any one knife will be 100. I have some knives that we will only make 2, or 6 or maybe 10. This is primarily due to the availability of suitable handle materials.

I hope this answers your question. If you need any other information, please don't hesitate to ask. I'll do my best to answer.

While we don't have the capability right now of inviting people here to see the work being done and to see some of the things we do, by the end of Summer of this year, we hope to have our facilities consolidated into one building. Once we finish getting into one place, we will have a small showroom and will be able to welcome folks to come and visit. I'm looking at a building right here in town. Wish me luck, please.

Thanks for your question and let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.

Keep Care,

Pappy
