I just started making folders a few weeks ago. This is #4.

Blade Length.........2.750 inches
Over All Length......6.625 inches
Scales..................Carbon Fiber
Weight.................2.5 ounces

The same damascus (C1095 and 15N20) was used for the blade, bolsters and back spacer. It is a pattern that I developed a while ago, and it turned out nice. Heat treated bolsters and back spacer with fire colored titanium liners.

Selling Price: $375

That is a great looking knife. I am amazed at how flawless that looks for it to only be your 4th knife. God has given you a gift. Good luck on the sale.

Jon

Jon, thanks for the compliment.

I have been making damascus and fixed blades for about 2.5 years. I have finally started to work on folders, and I have to say they are a different beast all together. Now I just need a surface grinder to speed things up a bit. :)

No, not yet. I have not been able to find a thumb stud that is small enough or that I like, so I need to make one special for this knife if I decide to put one on. Of course, if the customer wants one, it will be there. :)

That is actually a very pleasant knife. Please accept my humble criticisms as a collecter.

1) The bolster screws should be flush with the bolster

2) A bit of filework would really make this piece standout, particularly on the back third of the blade and backspacer

3) Make it a flipper, build up the back of the blade "just a touch" and file it as an ambi opener. This is easier said than done, but the result would be worth it in the long run. It won't mess up a clean, aesthetic design, and opens up the market to lefties, without the use of dual studs.

4) Get some more "pop" in the scales. Abolone "hearts", MOP, or ivory. Then you have a $700 easily. But that's my humble opinion.......

I'm with Marcangel on all points. Plus I'd add a very low-profile clip. But these nitpicks aside, it's a REALLY nice knife!

All Right kids, New Years sale, price reduced to $298.00

Can't get much better than that, right?

Cum'on, show me some love. ;)

Up for auction, check it out there. Do a search for damascus fiber and you will find her.

Thanks for looking.

Hey Sean,
Not sure if you missed it, Marcangel asked if you would drop him a line.
Just in case you missed it.

Peter- Yes I saw that, and sent an email, but did not receive a reply from him. I guess he wasn't interested, so I thought I would try it on eBay, but since I am new and don't have an established reputation, I doubt my reserve will be met. But hey, it can't hurt to try.

Yah, but your gonna get screwed on ebay anyway. Have you tried knife network yet?
I feel like I've asked this before, but how'd you get the handle to look like that.

I'm also assuming that Mackenzie is doing good.
Thanks

I signed up yesterday at the knife network and I am still waitng for my conformation. That should have been done by now, I guess I will have to chase that down soon.

The handle on this knife is carbon fiber so the weave look is from the strands of carbon fiber. Has a cool look in person too, has a nice depth look to it and changes when light hits it at different angles.

Mmmmm...what happened to marcangel? Not very nice of him to make the offer and then back out, if that's what happened. Sounds like he didn't even give you the courtesy of a reply back after his critique and offer.

It is a nice little folder. Good luck selling.

Finally, she sold! Along with another redwood burl and the mokume gents' folders. Thanks to Dave on the purchases and for building my hydraulic press frame!
