Hve a look at Case knives. Different patterns and handle materials, most available at or below your price point. (Sometimes I carry a Jade Bartender for dressier occassions)
Others for consideration may be Boker, Marbles or Queen. I specifically speak of slipjoints for each company. Each company seels quality items at or near 50.00.
I would recommend the kopa if quality is more important to you than a knife that looks similar to an mnandi. I own both and while the quality of my kopa is not to the level of my mnandi, I am reminded of my mnandi when handling my kopa due to its incredible quality. For $120 no less!!
No Mokis in the $50 range, but if you want the best bang for the buck gent's folder that would be my bet. They are now importing directly to the U.S. and you can get the 501 in Hirose pearl for $144 on eBay with VG10 steel. About as good as it gets. It's still less than 1/2 the price of a Mnandi and is actually IMHO a more attractive knife. BTW I own like 5 Mnandis and probably 25 Mokis. I think someone is selling a wood handled inlaid Moki in the $120 range on eBay.
MOKI makes a little folder called, the Silver Feather. Nothing but a blade and a stainless handle and a back lock, but the fit and finish rivals that of many customs. You can find one of these at gun/knife shows for the price range listed.
