Stainless handle delica or dragonfly? however a bit heavy. I have been carrying a stainless dragonfly at work everyday now for 5+ years (office job) great little big knife.

Spyderco Ed Schempp's C105 Persian is around $100, can be found at lower-mid nineties
3" Vg10 blade, SS bolsters, micarta handle

The bm nagara looks great
how's the quality control on it? I've read that some of them had iffy lockups.

I second the kershaw nakamura. I just got one for my b-day. It's a beautiful knife and a great conversation piece(the designs in the layers of different metals). It's extremely sharp too.

I like the bm shoki also but I think it's a little more money

- Mcusta, you can get some of their superb Damascus ones under $100 if you shop around.

- Or, the French way towards elegance: do try the Chambriard Le Compagnon. It's as lovely as you expect it to be:

My idea of a Sunday-go-to-meeting 'Gent's knife' is the Kershaw #1993-2, the 'Gentleman's Folder'. It has a 3.1" VG-10 blade that is hollow ground with a sharp bevel and semi-spearpoint/drop-point blade with a thumbnail nick for opening and a sturdy lockback for securing the blade. The inside liners, like the pins and lanyard tube, are brass - the thick scales are Micarta - the pivot is bright - SS? It's made, I believe, in Seki, Japan. It's not in production right now, but 'knifeworks' has it at $77 on their site. I believe the list was $125-$150. It comes with a cheesy leather sheath that has a plastic belt hook. Said hook can be pared away, rendering it as a pocket sheath, if necessary. I love US made - and German made - knives... this is my only Japaneese knife - and it has a home.

Actually, my idea of a near-perfect pocket knife available for <$75, and that's it's MSRP, is the Buck #347 Vantage Pro. It's blade edge is similar in length to the one above - except for the flipper or oblong thumb hole deployed wider blade of S30V with a linerlock and wider/thicker G10 scales. It is US-made - and looks and feels larger than the Kershaw, which is more in the vein of a 'Gent's knife'... as it's name implies! Bass Pro Shops have it for $46. Mine is in the old EDC rotation (Except for Sunday...).

While we are on $100 or less knives, check 'old stock' Benchmades at local B&M knife stores for potential bargains.

It has already been mentioned, but I have a Kershaw Gentleman's Folder (1992-3) and it is my favorite "classy" knife. The F&F rivals my Sebenza, and I don't say that lightly. The lockup is absolutely perfect and the lockbar sits absolutely flush in both open and closed (first time I've ever seen this). This thing is amazing, looks great, and is dirt cheap.

I agree with the Kershaw Gentleman's folder, even though I don't own one.

But will throw out the Kershaw OD-1 in Black G-10 on own side and stainless on the other. It has a 2 15/16 " blade so just a smidgen under 3". It a nice well made framelock.

I use it as my gent's folder.
