Genuine?

The operative phrase he used was global economy in the previous post. M marcinek seems to contradict that sentiment in this post,
I'm not following your comment about China. Seems like you have a bias against the Chinese that would better be aired elsewhere. This is about counterfeit knives. Many quality non counterfeit knives come out of China.

Not all Chinese manufacturers make clones and knock offs.
I support the ones who do not, and don't support the ones that do.

As for what you feel about my demeanor, I know you are a new member, but we have been asked repeatedly to talk about knives, not members.

This has nothing to do with the people of China, it has everything to do with supporting counterfeits, fakes and so called reputable manufacturers using questionable materials. You can’t support one without the other.

Have a nice night.

You as well. I'm out.

Not talk about members like you did in this post here?

Even when no political posts were made.

We already had this discussion. Please read that thread again.

Back to your point in this thread, you are making blanket claims about "the Chinese."

Some Chinese manufacturers make clones. Some don't. If you believe they all do, then, as craytab craytab correctly noted, you are just anti-Chinese. There is a name for the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race.

Have a nice night.

Let's suffice it to say that I haven't exactly been warmed by the response to my experience here. I would appreciate any information that affords me the avenue that terminates my participation. There are more than enough things in my life that expose me to ridicule. I reserve the right to extricate myself from any other examples of same. Most particularly as it relates to a collecting hobby that heretofore has provided me with pleasure in my remaking years on the planet. Would an admin please give me my out.

Don't take it too seriously.
It's the internet.
This place isn't very welcoming and a few members just like to yank chains, but just blow them off.

BF has a TON of good info, and really is one of the better sites to learn about sharp metal.
Chinese manufacturing/cloning has earned the rep they have honestly, and I personally don't trust anything made there to be represented accurately, unless I'm intimately familiar with the manufacturer.

Are there good knife companies in China? Yep. There sure are.
Good manufacturing? Yep.
There is also alot of junk, rampant fraud, intellectual theft, and straight up scammers.

I've done business with Chinese companies for years outside the knife industry, and it's a tough game if you dont know what you are doing and who you are dealing with.
It's less about politics and more about business.

If it looks too good to be true..it usually is.
$15 Benchmade knives are too good to be true, from anywhere.

You don't need an admin to accomplish your stated goal. It's easily enough accomplished by logging out and never logging in again. Or, you can hang around, get the feel of the place, and enjoy it as much as you want. Ta Da!

Welcome to Bladeforums, Dafudda.
I can see why you might feel like that right now. Like B Bad Ninja said "just blow them off"
Just a heads up though, if you post a pic of or talk about clone knives, the discussion will quickly turn into what you already got a small taste of. I made the same mistake when I first joined the forum and I am really glad I stuck around.
I hope you stick around and give Bladeforums a chance.
If you like Benchmade knives there is a sub forum dedicated to just Benchmade. Here is the link .

You make a post asking "Genuine" with a knife from Bulgaria in 5Cr steel marked Benchmade. I think you knew the answer before you made the post.

Personally I have no issue with knives from China IF they are well made, not a clone, and not falsely labeled as another brand. The knife you pictured looks like a Kershaw model AND is falsely marked as a Benchmade. It might be well made, I can't tell, BUT I'd not buy it due to those 2 reasons. Try not to be so thinned skinned and take the criticism and learn from it.

You want an inexpensive, well made knife then check out the Steel Will Modus or the Ontario RAT knives

And there you have it. You may thank Mo2's last straw on the pile. It's immaturity like that which will unravel a good thing. Consider that responsible admins. I'll continue my search for information minus the needs if some to antagonize. Goodbye

Do you have an issue with this member?

Maybe you could put him on ignore or take the discussion...

Just sayin'. What's good for the goose...

Dude, if you've got an issue with a certain member, put em on ignore or take the discussion to the appropriate subforum. Here you are making personal arguments that are off topic and frankly, just don't make sense. I'd advise a chill pill.

Always good to get lay of the land before starting out in an new environment. I visited and read for a year before registering. Then waited longer to start posting.
Would an admin please give me my out.
If you are unhappy, the thing to do is just log out.

And since the OP's question of whether the knife is genuine has now been answered, albeit not to his satisfaction...
