This ole boy came to me quite accidently tonight. I think it was incorrectly listed when I was searching Schrade fixed blades a few days ago.
When I saw the name [Geo Schrade Knife Co] under "StagBrand" I almost fell out of my seat.
Research [Google] pointed me to THIS forum and posts from Codger and others in 2004.

Blade length is 4.1/2" Overall it's 9"
I can't believe the seller still had the sheath.
The thing is sharp. Possible factory edge as I see no marks

It was quite reasonable and I was and still am surprised I found it and it's here! I just opened the package. What you see is as found.
You can tell I'm a happy guy!

Hope you guys enjoy the pictures.
:)

Nice get! These were stamped STAGBRAND and SCHRADEBRAND and a few later ones, after Boker bought Geo. Schrade Cutlery, with the Boker tree etched on the blade. That was shortlived however since the purchase nearly coincided with the outlawing of automatic knives and Boker closed the factory since automatics were their chief product.

Thanks Codger. Does this look familiar?

I believe I did, but never even started the faux stag styrene handled set. I can't recall ever even seeing an example much less buying one.

Who's Uncle George? We used to use those at the dinner table. LOL

Noticed another one of these in better shape than mine.
If anybody is interested, email me and I'll send a link or you can look
in the usual places.
Thanks, Harold

ps Thank you William Schrade sir, for your post.
We are honored by your presence here.

Mr William Schrade has kindly identified my knife!!!!

"The knife and sheath are the Stagbrand pattern made by the George Schrade Knife Co. Bridgeport Ct.
Boker bought the company in 1956 and liquidated in 1958 after the Federal Switchblade Act. Your knife was made between those dates."

Looking at your pictures again SAK Guy it's obvious the knife is beautiful specimen. However I believe the scabbard maybe the real gem of that set. Given fact that knives usually outlast their original scabbards. Yours is in almost new condition. I'm assuming that's a correct for knife scabbard given the comparison with Bloefeld's, Mr. Schrade's identification and your testimony in the thread you link to.

Yes it is the correct scabbard. Looks like it sat patiently inside a drawer for the last 57+ years.

That is how I received it, haven't done anything to it. A quick look though my 155 research folder shows no other example of the dyed front panel like that one. I was researching reg 155's maybe I should be looking at it from different angle I'll keep looking.

ETA:
It's original...here's a Boker 153 (next size down) with the same blade etch and the dyed sheath.
