Geo Schrade Knife Co- Uncle George Lives On!

You definitely hit the jackpot with that one. SMH yup.

I also like the look of the hand etch/engraved makers mark. But we all know they really wernt the maker now don't we.:D

Sorry to be oogling your knife so much. This one just aesthetically struck my fancy for some reason.

Just picked up another one off the bay. It's in worse shape but will clean up ok. No sheath but I already have a nice older Bark River sheath that will fit. I wont feel bad about using this one.

These are such a perfect size woods walking knives!!!!!

You know, I said early on (in my thread in Traditionals) that it reminded me so much of our old Schrade Walden hunting knives that were lost in the fire. Guess I was pretty close.

That was some fine historical knife sleuthing. I'm posting a link to your original thread Traditions ( as you failed to do so):p.

I'm amazed at how quickly you resolved the mystery. And that no one at Boker could help.

This thread is a good example of the serendipitous clue finding that can occur during any investigation.

Thank you FC! That was a very kind thing to say! :)
Sorry about the link but with all the experts and fine research over here, I didn't want to embarrass myself..... :o

Got my 155 user in today. A little clean up, sharpening and then into that used Bark river sheath. Will make a great walking companion.

I have one of these and am trying to understand the date behind the knife.
Is says stage brand Geo Schrade knife co
But doesn't have any other markings. It has the sheath with the elk and pheasants on it as well. Mine is definitely more used than the others on here. Like I said I'm trying to understand the year that is here.
Thanks in advance!

My father Theodore Schrade received a patent for a double sheath in 1952 for the large and small hunting knife. I believe production started late 40's early 50's.
