Xr6x Xr6x I would suggest you do the same. At least for a week.... It'll help you get a feel for the blade! :eek::p;):thumbsup:
 
My BK11 arrived today, BT alas the mail was running late and we had already left for the day, and spending tonight at my mother’s house. It’s going to spend the night at my front door, but I’ll be back tomorrow to get it!

It kills me. I even saw the mailman dropping it off on our surveillance system!

Hey to all the other GAW winners, did Geof include that winning lottery ticket in your boxes as well, or was that just mine?

This was a really wonderful box to find at my front door when I got home today. To save everyone from having to look it up, I got the "blank canvas, make it yours" BK11 and I can't wait to hold true to that directive. It's going to get stripped, get some micarta, and a nice leather sheath. The folks at Cam seem to have rounded the tip when they ground it, so I'll likely drop the point slightly to bring it back. While I'm at it, the flat drop at the front of the grip rubs my finger funny, so I might grind into it a little to make it more accommodating. All in all, this is a PERFECT blank canvas, and I can't wait to get to work on it and of course follow up with pics!

Much thanks to GeofS GeofS for the Camillus BK11 with sabre grind, dyed micarta scales and @azwelke sheath! :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

The edge will see some time on the Work Sharp belt grinder and I'll probably strip this one (it'll be my first time stripping... I swear! :rolleyes:;)) and put a mild patina on it to start (and then a coconut oil coating!).

A little tweaking should be fun!

Have a couple of other more dramatic ideas... But not sure this one will be the blade to get these... Still mulling it over.

Handles have great grip / texure and are quite thin and would sit nice and flat in the AZWelke sheath as a neck knife or as a Mercharness under-arm setup or even with some pull-the-dot straps in scout config.
