Hi Guys,

New to the forum and wanted to get some information on and share a knife I was given. I know the basics of it but I've never seen another one like it so far. Its a George Herron that looks similar to a model 12. The handle has the don't tread on me rattlesnake. The artist is D. Moraff with the year 1978 under the signature. The sheath is a Benchmade. Wanted to know for sure what it is, seems like a unique piece hope you guys enjoy.

Mr. Herron's catalog describes his Model 12 as "My version of a combat knife. Also available with a single guard for use as a camp or trail knife. Features 6-1/2 inch blade, top edge sharp 2-1/2 inches...". To me by the one photo it does appear to be a Model 12 with ivory handle material. His Model 11 is very similar with a 4-1/4 blade with sharp two inch on top. Great knife, it would be a honor to have it in anyone's collection!

Looks more like Herron's boot knife. What is the blade length?
