I looked at a wonderfull gallery of pics and clips of George Herron and his knives.

There are several videos from an interview. I saw a grinding attachmet with a roller instead of a push stick. Is there something tricky in using it, or it is just for pushing to the wheel and pull right-left?

I have one but don't use it. I can do better freehand. This was designed to reduce fatigue
when rough grinding 50-100 blades for heat treat. Mainly drop point blades.
He was smooth enough with it to put a final satin finish on a blade.
