I can't seem to find any information on this knife! Trying to find the value of it. Is it really the Holy Grail of knives? Any information is much appreciated!

Gen discussion isn't the place to discuss the value of knives and you have to have a gold subscription to actually inquire.

Welcome to Bladeforums.

I don't see how that particular knife could be the "Holy Grail of knives" as I've never heard of it. But perhaps I haven't spent enough time on internet knife forums (it's only been 13 years ;)).

Of course different people have different definitions of "Holy Grail" when it comes to knives. Many people define that term as "a knife they really want, but it remains beyond their grasp", or something to that affect.

As far as knives that are really rare and valuable, there are many of those.

...can't help you out on the value, but info on George Herron's knives is readily available...just 'Google' his name, here is some info I found.

George Herron Model 6 Drop Point: George Herron began in the early 1960s as a Randall imitator, changed over to Loveless-style knives, and eventually developed a style of his own - which is imitated by everyone. What Herron brought to the game besides practicality was immaculate workmanship and a matchless eye for lines. The Model 6 is Herron's version of the drop-point hunter. You can see the Loveless influence, but the Model 6 is slimmer and far more graceful. While the quality of Loveless's work has varied, there's never been a Herron knife that wasn't perfect.

Can't help you on the value of a Herron knife because the two I have are priceless 'cause 'ol George (or Howard as the family called him) was my cousin. I have two of them that has a serial # of 11 and the other is 212. The wood handled one (sn:11) was made from a file and the bone handled one is stainless steel (gotta look up which one). Both of them are users as George intended them to be.
