Does the stuff in the Gerber logo come like that from the factory or is it some gunk from your pockets?
The BladeForums.com 2024 Traditional Knife is ready to order! See this thread for details:
https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/bladeforums-2024-traditional-knife.2003187/
Price is $300 $250 ea (shipped within CONUS). If you live outside the US, I will contact you after your order for extra shipping charges.
Order here: https://www.bladeforums.com/help/2024-traditional/ - Order as many as you like, we have plenty.
It would be the ideal blade to have when going through air port security. If they catch it going through, just pop off the blade and toss the blade. The Exacto blades are cheap, put a new on when you get there. Never tried it, but its a thought...I suppose the same goes for a super knife.

Anybody have one of these I just ordered one and I like how it looks I plan to unscrew the entire blade pivot and thing including the liner so it will be thinner. I also know that it is going to get scratched up so has anybody taken a dremel with a wire brush on it and removed the coating? If you have pics would be awesome.
Absolutely adore my lil' Artifact. I use the heck out of it. For a $10 chinese made tool from Target, it's probably one of the best minimalist tools out there. I find a use for it everyday. Most of the time, it's all the tool I need day in and day out.
That said, if the explosive underwear terrorists don't get EVERYTHING banned via plane travel, you might look at the Shard:

Comes out next month....just in time for my birthday
Save up your pennies, though. It comes in at a whopping MSRP of just shy of 8 bucks![]()
I would leave the finish intact unless you can seal the bare metal to keep the blade easy to clean and resist the corrosion.
A thought: I have two of these, I think, if I can find the other, I can send it your way.
That would be amazing dude. People like you are what make these forums great :thumbup:
There are some ideas without the blade for you here; otherwise call Gerber Gear and order a Shard. Shards aren't available through the website and they're $12 each before shipping, but every place else Froogle listed online doesn't have them.
Ben, I'm not 100% sure but I think quick steel is just JB Weld. Walmart, Lowes, or any hardware store will sell it for around $5.
Mixing it is easy. Getting it to finish that smooth...well I certainly lack that skill![]()
