Hi,
I recently bought this fine Command 2. When I first held it in my hand I directly noticed that the blad was a bit (2-3 degree) canted. The back of the blade has rounded edges (see pictures to understand my poor prescription) and the tip is more blunt than other Command 2 I have come across. Anybody have an idea or some info about the old Command 2s?

it was abit tricky to ad pics, but now there up.

I wish the pics were working as I'd love to see this knife. I know some of the old Mkii knives came with a canted blade, but they stopped doing that because people buying them thought they were defective.

I've never seen a Command come canted, but I am far from an expert. I only have one MKii, and it's from around 2012.

I read that Gerber changed blade steel from L6 to 440 stainless in 1982 (for the Mark 2s). I dont know what year my knife was manufactured. Is it possible to determine the steel of this knife by some method?

Just saying but
Is it not possible that the cant feature
might not have been an original factory feature; but came about as a result of damage through some form of mishandling or by some misfortunate accident in previous hands?
Is there also not some possibility that
the tip have been regrounded as a result
thereof?

Mabye youre right. A misshap at the factory. I have seen this blunt nose on some early Mark 2s as well.
