I bought a fiskars axe that was the same as the sport ax and I wanted a sheath for it so I called Gerber to see how much it would be. I couldnt get anybody on the phone so I left a message, I did this about 5 times over the last week and a half and havent gotten any response. I just got a gator fixed blade for 15bux cause it didnt have a sheath with it but I'll probably have to have a sheath made for it. I've got another call in and an email sent to them I wonder if I'll get a response.

Fiskars owns Gerber when you buy the axe with the fiskars brand on it it comes with a large molded plastic sheath when you buy the Gerber marked one it comes with a nylon sheath like I want. I got a good deal on the fiskars and was wanting to get the nylon sheath for it.

Yup...After Fiskars bought Gerber, Gerber went right to hell. The only knife good to come out of Gerber since then is/was the Yari, and the dumb-asses went and DC'd that one.

If I were you, I'd sell/give-away/throw-away your Gerber/Fiskars and buy Benchmade or Spyderco knives...One HELL of alot better customer service in those two excellent knife companies. BTW...I've also been ignored by Gerber/Fiskars in the past.

Gerber/Fiskars can kiss MY white ass...

Well I finally got someone on the other end of the line and was told they dont handle saleing sheaths but that I could call the gerber store or go to the website www.gerberstore.com and get one. Damn thing would cost more for the sheath than I paid for the knife oh well thats what normark and leatherman are for. Found out that the axes come that way from finland and they dont have spare sheaths for them. I got my answer but damned if it didnt take some work. The sad part is I like Gerbers stuff I've got a yari thats my edc a multiplier thats in my kit bag and I've got saws and axes thats seen alot of work around the yard and the field, but they really need to get better customer service people.

Dunno if my interaction was with Gerber before or after the Fiskar's aquisition... but @ two years ago I sent in an old lockback that I gave to my father 20 something plus years ago... they sent it back to me fixed like new (except for the handle slabs - they left the originals - but they fixed the pivot pin, tightened it and centered the blade) and sharper than when I bought it... Plus, they sent it back in a cordura sheath even though it never came with one... AND - they didn't even charge me return shipping!!!

Okay, I won't attest to anything after that date, but i will have to admit I was impressed with my one interaction with them...
