Gerber folding saw and shears

The shears could be used for small braches if your scared of using something else. But their saws work extremly well, as do the fiskars versions.

Be careful with the saw, mine cut so well I used it on a larger tree pinched it and bent the blade.I only paid $6 for mine though so no big loss.Any way used properly a great little saw.

I have bent a blade sawing very hard wood, but im not sure if that was mateials or user error. I bought a couple new blades and have had no trouble since. :)

Good luck wiht yours:thumbup:

used the saw yesterday. I cut up a few various size saplings and even some treated lumber. worked vey good. I like the fact that the saw came with an extra blade. usefull if I bend or break one in the field. Also the handel was very comfortable and very grippy thanks to the rubber inserts. My wife took the pruners to trim roses and our bonzai trees with, so I probably wont see those again;) All in all, for 20 bucks I feel it was a good buy, we'll see how the saw holds up in the long-run though.....

Isn't the shear for clearing out a bushes for a clearing out firing lanes? That's the only time I use my shears, don't even use it at home.

You know I never thought about that. Even if thats not its intended purpose, that seems like a great use for them. Good tip either way.

I don't know if that would make as good tool, as a machete has to be reasonably thick, while a good saw is thin. Put them together and you have a great meal of diet fried chicken.

Tramontina machetes are under 1/8" thick and they work great for their intended purpose.

I am curious to see one of those machetes up close. Looks usefull from the pic, but it doesnt really do it justice. I wonder what kinda steel is in them.
