Hi all I am doing a restoration on some old Gerber Mark II I came by one from 75 one from 73 they are pitted from rust. I am a Bladesmith and while I could could probably take it down with 220 wet dry which seems to watch the original finish, It would be much easier to use my KMG machine to do it. But even on a slow speed it is going to remove material fast. Now I dont have a problem doing that I would rather use the correct diameter wheel and not guess at it and make a hollow. Soooooooooooooo if any one knoes the diameter Gerber used when they hand ground them if you could pass it on it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and make sure your respirator fits correctly. Those old L6 blades do pit a bit. I think that I uses a 4 inch on my old one.

take some different sized round covers and caps from jars and plastic containers. see which size fits into the hollow grinds.
