Gerber mk2 35ys' photo from China knife magazine

The knife is a recently manufactured "35th Anniversary" edition so the soldier is just window dressing for selling a current knife. Take a look at a picture of that model from AG Russel's website. Particularly look at the inscription on the blade.

The photo in the article is that of Master Sgt. Peter Novak. Master Sgt. Novak carried a Gerber MKII into Vietnam. He passed away in November of 2000. An article on him and his knife can be found in the May 2002 issue of Blade Magazine.
As far as "window dressing", as Jeff so put it, I wonder what Msgt. Novak would think of his picture being used to sell knives. I doubt that the publisher had permission to use his picture anyway.
