Gerber Multi-Tools

The Wave is value for money. Compact, light enough and one-hand opening for the blades.

If you are still not satisfied, get the Victorinox Champ.

Go with a victorinox swisstool. They are better than anything else on the market. I have had them all and this is the one that I think works the best.

The Wave is very much a one-trick pony. That trick is of course the one-handed blades.

If you intend to use the Wave as your sole carry and feel you need one-handed blades, then it is a good choice.

If you already have a good one-handed folder or don't need one-handed blades, there are better choices out there. Generally these better choices are also less expensive. The compromises which have to be made to get those nifty one hand blades are a significant detraction from the overall usefulness of the tool.

If you really need to have that blade out half a second or so quicker, then go for the wave. If not I would look at the Swisstool or Gerber's line with the sliding heads. I would recommend you avoid the Gerber 800 Legend series with the aluminum handles. Lots of gimmics, not quite so much functionality.
