gerber "profile"

go to ragweedforge.com and under the knives of sweden heading you will find the mora 2000 the sheath stinks but the knife is awesome and is only 30 beans as a matter of fact you can get almost any mora knife from that site for between 10 and 20 dollars there are great beaters for bushcraft tasks.. and many folks here including myself swear by them..also if you order from them you will have your order in 2 days...be fore warned however once you turn down the mora path forever will it dominate your destiny.

Frankly, I have to agree. I personally think you would be better off with a Mora than that Gerber. It won't look as cool but it will perform.

Nothing wrong with the Gerber, however if you are not sure about a knife try to handle it before buying.
Blackjack grunt can also be had for similiar money.

another vote for the mora, less money better quality. but as mentioned above try to handle both and get which one feels the best and that you have faith in.

I actually have one.
It feels pretty good in the hand but... idk how the edge was when I got it.... I tried convexing it but it's hard to get really sharp. (I think) although I think all my crappy sharpening jobs might have screwed it up.

idk how it would perform for bushcrafting honestly.
I'd say you'd be better off with a mora or blackjack grunt. :D

Im not knocking Gerber, they have some great products, but I owed one of those Gerber Profiles and it sucked! I couldnt get it sharpend for nothing and it would not cut wet bread. The sheath was bad. IMO, get the Mora. This is from a guy who had one and will never own one again. Dude seriously save your 20.00 bucks and spend it on the Mora. There is no comparison between the two. Besides Gas is to high to throw money away on a Profile. Oh and the point was dull.

i am a big fan of Gerber, but i would avoid the Profile if you need a really good blade to depend on. My recommendation would be the Gerber Prodigy, the smaller brother to the LMF II. great, solid tough knife for around $60. i have one and it has performed very well!

I have that knife and I'm really not a Gerber fan AT ALL, I really do like the Profile. I got mine at Walmart for $20.00 and it's very easy to sharpen on my benchstone. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a smallish fixed blade at that price. I keep it in my bag along w/ a Mora clipper as well.

I'm always a little concerned when I can't figure out what steel a knife is made of. Gotta assume the worst. The $20 price point isn't where we expect to find quality.

But the Mora 2000 ain't half bad for the bucks - the steel is good, and the sheath is, too. Not "great", mind you, but definitely worth the $25 or so you're gonna pay for it.
