Hi, new to the forum so I hope I'm posting this in the right section. Does anyone here know all the patterns released by Gerber under the Silver Knight Series? In particular, I am interested in the "scrimshaw" patterns made available in 200A 250A and 300A. I believe a few were also released in the FS series. Thanks in advance for taking time to reply.

There are approximately 34 Silver Knights. As far as Schrimshawed models there are two different eagle patterns in the 200A size, five in the 250 size, landing ducks, mallard, bass, hunting dog, turkey and four in the 300 size, elk, deer, schooner, bear. There is also one special edition 250 size with an image of Halley's Comet in white on black micarta handles.

I still have a few Silver Knights that are all stainless steel and I bought and used them to engrave and give for gifts. They areperfect for that.

Thanks for the info. I actually have found 2 different bass patterns in the 250 size and another elk in the 200 size. I was hoping Gerber made a brochure that lists all the Silver Knights, but I can't seem to find anything.

Mr. Bernard Levine said his 4th edition guide includes a list of the Silver Knights. Until I find a copy for myself, could someone post a scan of the section he references? Thanks again!

Here is a scan of the list from the 4th Edition of Levine's Guide to Knives and their Values. I have included corrections because there were some ommissions and some mistakes. I have verified my corrections through talks with Mr. Levine and with Mr. Doug Hutchings who was the Production Manager at Gerber when the Silver Knights were made. His Department also made the scrimshawed handles in Portland, OR and attached them to the knives made in Japan. So the Scrimshawed knives were a collaboration and partially made in the USA.

I have also included a picture of my Silver Knight Collection which has all of the models on the Levine list as well as the corrections noted and one additional 250B wood handle model which has a Gold Emblem with a Ruby attached to the bolster and was a 10 year service award at Bell Telephone company.

Thanks vjb, that really helps!! You did an excellent job in addressing the corrections. If I may, I would just like to add that the 200A elk DOES exist and there are at least 2 different 250A bass designs (different artwork). I can share this with confidence as I have both bass as well as the 200A elk. With that said, kinda makes one wonder if there aren't a few others that neither of us has mentioned. I don't know how to post pics on these threads, but I can email you the pics if you'd like to see 'em. Thanks again for the pics and edited scan, excellent!!

I would definately like to see any thing you have pics of that I don't have listed. That's funny about the 200A elk because I have a 300A elk pattern and it is not listed. When I spoke with Doug about the possibility that the size was listed incorrectly he confimed that. He even sent me old ads for the knives showing many of the models but that never was in any of them. Well I guess even the guy that made them forgot. I think I may have two different bass patterns in the 250 series but will have to check. I would like to see any pics yopu can send to me at vjb.knife1@verizon.net

If you would like pic of anything I have I will send them to you also.

Hi,

I have a Silver Knight 300A deer scrimshaw and I am wondering about the scales material and the "scrimshaw" technique.

Can anybody tell me about these things, what the scales are made from and how the deer printing ist made? Is it a real scrimshaw?

Anyone EDC one of these Silver Knights? I have one that seems like a well-constructed knife, but I still have never carried it, as I mostly tote old school slipjoints these days.

Wow,That is a fine collection, congratulations. That must have been tough to get all those pieced together. Those were great little knives to carry and use.

I can't find these listed on Gerber's site. Anyone know if they've been discontinued? That would be a drag as, along with the LST, they really were the class of the Gerber line, IMO.
