Gerber's gone and done it again! This just never fails...

Probably not the right spot for this. Although it looks like someone (or a few someones) got hurt. Makes sense. No guard or protection at all.
 
Looks to me like they had a flawed design, admitted the flaw, and are replacing it. Sounds like the right thing to do, to me.

I've never really had much interest in sawback knives, but I say good on them for replacing the handles and owning up to the mistake.
