The knife has a nice heft to it and is full tang. The fit of the stag and brass is well done. There is file work just ahead of the brass bolsters and also towards the tip of the knife. The blade looks even on both sides and it is sharp the entire length. I have found only two things I'm not crazy about. It is definitely a shiny one and needs a thicker leather for the sheath. I haven't had a chance to use it yet so I can't share anything about it's edge holding or cutting abilities. It is not a cheap knife to me and for the price I paid so far I'm happy with it. There is a liner inside the sheath and it does hold the knife securely. OAL is 8.5" and blade is 4". The box says it is handmade Germany. I would say the overall quality is good.

Interesting note about hand made, I have often seen hand forged on many cheap machetes, I wonder what this means exactly. When you get a chance to use the knife, update this review if possible.

Cliff,
I don't know if the parts were handmade in Germany and assembled somewhere else or whether it was all done in Germany. The retail I've seen for it is about 79.95 plus shipping. I got it for 29.00 shipped and couldn't pass it up for that. When I have used it I will report more on it. I got it for skinning and odd chores.
