Does anyone know of German custom makers? Just wondered if we have some known names over here as well.

Check Ken Warners Knife books. He lists all makers in the U.S. including address's and phone #'s. He also touchs on makers throughout the world thou not quite as extensive as the domestic list. Hope this helps

The first name that comes to mind is Kevin Wilkins in, I believe, Berlin. He has a website at http://www.wilkins-knives.com. Some very nice designs in mostly D2 and ATS-34, at what seems to be a very reasonable price. There's a couple that have caught my eye that I'm saving my pennies for.
Any others that come to mind right away?

There are a few excellent German Knifemakers.

Dietmar Kressler makes exquisite Loveless style hunters fighters and integrals.

Christian Wimpff makes high end artsy tactical folders.

Manfred Sachse is one of the foremost damascus forgers in the world.

Wolf Borger is also known for his novel button locks.

Richard Hehn hand makes customs for Puma.

There are many more listed in Warners Knives
but these are the most famous that I am aware of.
