Found that I've picked up a few of these over the years.

Hubertus lockback with corkscrew, screwdriver and awl (?) or somesuch.

Diefenthal multi blade, excellent quality.

Modern 90's (?) rendition of the classic Puma Universal. Still a quality piece but not as the older ones which were a cut above.

I had a beautiful stag Schlieper sodbuster with saw blade, but sold it. Still have pics, though.

Great-looking knives. Surprising how many of these German knives feature a corkscrew.

That's a fascinating blade! what is the purpose of the tip handle (or whatever it's called)?

Think its a gutting blade, blunt tip to avoid piercing and cutting edge to unzip. Not much of a hunter so just speculation.

That is the European version of the gut hook. Thats not a handle, its a knob to prevent cutting things that you should not be cutting when field dressing game.

a couple older Weidmannsheil hunters

Nice knives and nice stag on 'em, too. I have a liking for those rectangular hunters and lockbacks... They just look cool and useful. Especially with the saws and extra goodies attached.

Love the stag & the saw blades.
I found this guy late last year, not stag,no saw,but a nice old German hunter with a unique lock.

I've owned this Puma for over 30 years. It's been all over Europe and most of the USA. For years it was my daily carry. I've only seen one other in this pattern with the serrations in all that time.

That one is gorgeous! Guessing they're quite rare then? or are they still possible to get?

We don't drink just beer, we like our wine too :)

That, and you can get a beer bottle open with just about anything, like a lighter, another beer bottle etc. Much harder to open a corked wine bottle without the proper tool. The german thinks practical :D

As a hunter myself (and wine drinker) I always am on the lookout for these types of knives at the shows. Always liked the pattern and utility of them. Very nice!

Beautiful old Puma! I've bid on a couple of 941's but never been able to snag one. Lots of competition on the older Pumas which were built the old world way.

it gladdens my heart to see a well used (and much loved knife) like that Hartkopff.
