German knife reforms

Interesting developments Tobias. The keycom already have removable changeable thumbstud.

How bout a Boker version of the UKpenknive from spyderco or a production version a la kevin wilkins new slipjoint folder. Something simular but not the same of course. Within legal blade lengths for folders. Good quality X-15-N Bohler or other high end steels and fancy scales would be preferable...hint hint..:)

A slipjoint with half-stop when closing for protection; something like a notch-joint.

He MOI,

I would not recommand stalking mr. perrin unless you're suicidal.:DLOL

lol Tobias, I live in Arnhem so if Böker has an office in Emmerich  Anyway, the local weapon dealer is looking for some new employee, but I'm not technical enough to apply. Don't tell me you're EDC-ing a Puma!!!???

Maarten, I've just got my 2 dots KeyCom (#248 for the nerds...) and the replaced Direkt (#868 instead of #38:mad:) and I don't think the thumstub is meant to be removable, it's on the left side of the blade, kinda like a Sebenza. I was speechless for 2 seconds when I pulled out my Trance and compared them. I'll take some pics in the weekend. Half-stop slipjoint, you mean à la Opinel?

The only thing I'm still waiting from Böker is the 2008 Magnum, and when I have saved up enough €€€, I'll start the negotiating on the Tirpitz Damast...

Odd stuff... I drew a knife sketch more than a half year ago, and I found it a few day back, it looks 95% like the Recurve Bowie!!!

Hey, Arnhem isn't that far ;-))
Yuu mean Hes van Zweeden (I am not sure if I wrote it correctly)... Will you be on the DKE in November?

No, I don't even have a single Puma... I EDC some blades from California... with Stripes...

You're correct sir, and you spelled it right. Dunno about DKE, if I have time by then. The idea of you EDC a Puma is kinda funny like the CEO of Pepsi drinks Coca Cola.

IJzeren man, you HAVE to go to DKE. Everybody even slightly interested in knives should go to a knife show in his/her country.

So repeat after me: I will go to DKE!:D

@ Marketing: will you be going? Then we'll probably meet over there!

Kind regards,

Jos

Hey, do you want to come every morning to Germany for work?

yup, that would be sweet  my company should be sending me from the office in California to the German HQs after the new office opens in September for an internship where I work in every department. My plan is to apply for a permanent transfer to Germany

I guess one way around this is to set the pivot screw loose enough so that you can move the knife down fast so the blad moves out from the body (handle), and then flick it open with your wrist.....no flipper or thumstud is needed in this opening application. I can do the aforementioned with my Boker EFD, prefer the flipper though!

MOI,

No not like the opinel but more like the Spyderco UKpenknive. When disengaging the blade you'll have to help the blade over the 90 degree angle for final closing. This way snapping it thight you won't cut your fingers being careless..

Simular like notchjoint like shown on page 43 (locktypes) in the online spyderco catalogue.

He how is your new Direkt? I hope its better as your last one?

Can someone inform this dumbo about this DKE show in November where and when at what date?:o

He Jos,

Thanx bro . Jee thats just arround the block. Have to note that in my agenda. Spyderco is attending hmm interesting. Will there be a boker stand??? Do i need to pre-order tickets???
:thumbup::D

I've been following the British press - it is insane in the UK. Glad to see Germany is using some common sense.

What about one hand knives utilizing flippers and not thumb studs to open them?? The thumb studs on the EFD and AFD are useless and are clearly removeable.

Maybe I should buy an AFD or Eurofighter II later this year. Any plans on putting a heavy duty liner lock like on the Titan Defender into the AFD? Any plans for a third generation model of the AFD?

Jos,
I guess, I will be there with a collegue from the sales dept. We'll have a one or two tables...

Maarten,
it would be really nice seeing you in

Tacticalgerman:
you must visit Boker, when you are in September in Germany!!!
No, every knife is resticted in how you carry it, which can be operated with one hand.
A hole, disc, thumbstud, flipper, Wave... all these models are "legal" to carry with a "legal reason" or for a socially, adequately purpose: Hunting, fishing, hiking, camping... but not for SD! This is no "legal reason"... don't ask why.

Everyone one else interested in joining the DKE???

Lol, I was asked many times by people who are interested to EDC a knife. That's exactly what I told them. As for me, I have an "excuse" to carry them for work, which is true, even with helluva overkill. For real SD reason, I suggest all the sheeple who contributed to the current phoney policies to EDC the law book on criminal activity, and cite the adequet verse when facing an assailant. It will definitely scare the bad guys to death, but just before they pass away, they will turn themselves in.

DKE, if you are bringing a Tirpitz Damast, I'll be at the table next to you, selling Bratwursten und Jägermeitser (Schultenbräu for those who have spent all their money on knives) while citing from die Kritik der reinen Vernunft, Auflage B off course:foot:

Of course, all my knives, currently carrying three... are for work and demonstration.
For peeling in apple in my lunchbreak and cutting open boxes, letters etc...

If you want a Tirpitz damascus, please remind me mid November again, and I will bring it.

The last quotation was a lil bit too philosphic, this early in the morning!

(F.l.t.r) Plato, Kant, Hegel and Nietzsche chilling with the KeyCom infront of my concept Hippie Killer, while descussing the collapse of moral, knife laws in particular.

I think we should get rid of one hand opening knives and go back to real blades, swords.

They are much more practical seeing one can fence with them :D

I'd like to see a damascus rapier or saber from Boker, wouldn't you? ;)

I can see openning packages (cardboard boxes/envelopes) with a Claymore.
