Geronimo's Bowie

All I could find is the sheath reproduction. Its supposed to be an exact repro copy..

Just happened to find that sheath repro nearby to photograph, eh? ;)

That sure it a pretty set up. I think the sheath just may outshine the knife in this case. And that's a fine looking knife, so that's saying something.

No Amos,, its not what your thinking:rolleyes:.. I wish 'cause she is a beauty! I Googled Geronimo's Knife trying to locate a photograph attempting to lend assistance to dbrock76 and amongst a bakers dozen of dead ends I did find one bright spot which was this sheath reproduced using supposedly the real McCoy. They are a premier master leather-works outfit out of Texas I believe it was, and for only $340.00  you can have one just like it to fit your knife.. Geronimo sure had nice taste in knives..

.....nice lookin' rig. Handsome on the eyes...might have to "wallpaper" that.
Thanks for taking the time to look that up and post, sunnyd.

You know that is one nice looking sheath however, me thinks Geronimo's name is being capitalized on here just a we bit.

I am sure I read an article a few years back on Geronimo his knife and his pistol.
I need to look through my papers to see if I can dig it out .

Paul.

Thanks to everyone who took an interest. Just to add further confusion, here's a link to an incredibly bad photo of an exhibit at the museum at Ft. Sill, OK. You'll notice the tricked out concho sheath is in fact there.

Sure Gramps, my pleasure my friend..

Hiya dbrock76,

Both of your links connected to the same page successfully, however, the information is not available due to "too many page requests" or some such. If you can still get that photo through other means, I would still like to see it. Thanks..

Oh, and Welcome to the forums.. :)

Only $340, eh? Let me see what I can dig up out of the couch cushions - of somebody else's house! OUCH! However, that really is a very beautiful specimen of leather art! It would make a nice bit of wallpaper at that.

Man, wouldn't it be sweet to have that sheath as part of a gun belt and holster rig for your sixgun all done up like that!

SunnyD, "wish" is the operative word. Like, I WISH Santa would put one in my stocking, or boot, or anywhere I can find it! I hear heavy laughter drifting down on the North wind though. Sounds like a fat, red suited, old geezer's laugh with elves and reindeer echoing the laughter. Do ya think that might mean something? ;) Maybe I wasn't naughty enough.

Amos are you making fun of waynorth again... :D

LOL, I was gonna say nope, Way Far North for the guy I'm talking about. Then I realized Farnorth is Charlie's ebay handle! 'Course I wouldn't be surprised to hear a chuckle or two of understanding in there from Waynorth. Or any of my fellow knifanalia lusters on here. ;) We all know that pain. Too pretty, too much desire, and it's too darn much to spend.

Nope, I'm talking about the fellow they have that two or three story tall statue of in North Pole, Alaska. Pretty darn big statue for a guy who's s'posed to be an elf!

I'll try that link again and it'll be here in case I type it in wrong...again
You don't have to drive yourself nutz typing it over.
Just Highlight, copy and paste.
On a mac that is "Command" + "C" to copy and to paste it is "Command" + "V"
 :D

Picture I have a photocopy of shows a similar sheath, difference is that there are 6 discs decorating the front, 4 large and two smaller, knife looks like a run of the mill Sheffield dagger, stag handle pinned with 4 pins and an escutcheon plate, blade length looks to be @ 6 ".
Sheath is attached to a belt with studded decration and square fancy buckle.
A disc and stud decorated holster for a Colt .45 Peacemaker is also on the belt.
The discs may have been hammered silver coins and the whole rig may have had Mexican origins.

Paul.
