Geronimo's Bowie

I'm sure that Geronimo was well armed. He used a Winchester repeating rifle I believe. We must be very careful here as to determining which knife was used by Geronimo because Geronimo lived to be fairly old and in his later years made a living from selling "Geronimo Souvenirs". His main business was selling hand made arrows and sometimes bows as well. he was invited to a World Fair where he did a very brisk business. He had a large stock and was quickly sold out. His arrows sold for more than double than those from his Indian colleagues. I wonder if he didn't sell several "Geronimo Knives with special sheaths" to tourists as well. Maybe that's why one sheath has four conchos and another six. I have a Geronimo Commemorative dagger from Buck that fits the description well: Stag pinned handle - six inch blade. I would be interested in seeing more photos if anybody could get a link to work. Cheers, Alex.

I saw his bowie at the Ft Sill museum, only about a 5 inch blade and if I remember right a stag slab handle. He did have a highly decorated pistol holster and belt, with lots of silver on it, almost for sure a "Battle Field" acquistion, ie he took it off someone they killed. Perhaps you could google the Ft Sill Museum and locate a photo. The knife and holster are in the old stockade which according to the muesum he spent a fair amount of time in it for various wrong doings.
