I was trying out my GB wildlife axe the other day and really liked it but thought the handle was a little small in diameter and a little slickbut all things concidered it was everything I have been led to believe.
Then tonight I was looking for a handle for another project hatchet and ran across this at the local hardware store and thought I would try it and see what you all thought . It is called a "Stiletto AirGrip"
Feels pretty good. It is a little thicker than an innertube or heat shrink and has a slightly tacky feel. Actualyy tacky probably isin't the correct word because it isn't sticky but it definitely isn't slick and gives a good grip and adds a little girth.
I like the look of the plain wood handle better but for me the improved grip is probably more important than looks. both for improved grip and safety, plus it will help protect the handle. I thought the price was a little high at $15 but it felt good on the floor sample so I figured what the heck.
The other picture of the knife ,axe and sheath were of a frost set that I saw on Ebay a while back but I didn't know how to post a picture so here it is tonight. I HOPE
My daughter added the links so if they don't show up let me know and I will try again
