Get a grip.

I love the fancy stuff! I have seen some very, very pretty handles in the Custom Shop. *drool material.

Anybody notice a difference in the knife from the first picture to the second???

Artificial materials: Snakeskin micarta, tigerhide micarta, black paper micarta, natural canvas micarta.

Natural materials: Stag, osage orange, desert ironwood,

For me, nothing beats the feel of the canvas and especially linen micartas...I LOVE how the snakeskin and tigerhides I have handled have the slightest bit of soft cushioning to their feel. I also love the different patterns that come out with different machining patterns.

The woods and fossils look beautiful, and from my limited experience have a nice feel to them, but I must admit I do have some guilt when using something so pretty. I also can't say I trust them to be as indestructible as the micartas.

First: Black, hand-smoothed G-10 (for all purpose), then: Mammoth tooth (for aesthetics)…

And…

Snakeskin (all types)
Tiger hide
Green linen
Other G-10
Black paper (though with {jungle} green, BP looks so nice)
Gunner grips (Strider)

I am not a fan of Res-C, FRN, zytel, rubber & etc… grips at all. I know they work well, but they are just not for me.
