Get 'em while you can

I payed pretty much what I would have if they were still available, and that's great because I've never even seen one In person let alone handled one.
If the knife doesn't end up really clicking with me then I didn't pay a fortune for it.

That's the crazy part about wanted an out of production knife you've never even seen in person.

This is one of the reasons I don't have a 305 clipper yet, I'm worried the scissors may fall short a bit compared to a Vic classic which pretty much set the standard.
I want it but the conditions have to be right so I'm not rushing as I know I'll end up impulsively overpaying.

I assumed wrong. that they gave it to ya, but for someone who wasn't selling it to go and dig it out, and being discontinued and long gone from easily replaced and let it go from their collection....still a good deed and generous.;)

That's the last knife from Buck that I neglected to get while I could.
Still looking for a 305 clipper but that's not one Inwas aware of till maybe a year ago, and I'm worried the scissors may let me down compared to the scissors on a Vic classic so I'm not in a rush to find one.

One thing

Yes definitely.
I'm happier to have payed for it, were it gifted I might feel more obligated to like it than I potentially will.
I think I will though as I know myself pretty well, and I definitely appreciate them taking the time to pull a knife from their collection and sell it to me.

My first El Cajon Buck arrived today and I'm glad to finally have a knife made In my home state( besides anything I've made myself ), better yet that it's from the wonderful Buck family.

Until the Smidgen arrives this'll be all I carry.
These days I know the capabilities and have confidence in carrying a knife this size, but I can remember a time when larger knives than this were too small for me to take serious as anything more than a better than nothing backup.

I took one of my Smidgens and attached it to a bag on my ruck.
