brace yourself, jk knives will start hammering steel sometime next spring! Jds1 surprised me with an anvil at the michigan gathering, so i'm going to start forging knives.

A few things I want to mention. First off I plan on doing a ton of research before I even think of starting to hammer steel. The other thing is I won't be taking orders for these, when I get one finished it will go up for sale, and so on.

If you call a local tree removal company and ask them to drop one off, they should be accommodating.
A lot of them, at least in NJ, have to pay for disposal of stumps, and they sell the trunk wood as firewood.

It would save them a few $ and you should be able to get it for free. Call the local recycling center and see if they charge for stumps, just so you have some info when you call a tree service.
