Get Rid of a Wasp or Hornet

I had a very similar situation at home sitting at my computer involving a wasp, last week.Flying around the room and my head, constantly buzzing. When I think of it now,I'm sure it was trying to get outside and I should of caputured it instead of killing it. What I did was the next time it buzzing in front of my face,I took my tennis racket electric bug zapper powered by 2AA that was purchased at the local grocery store for a few bucks (that I use to kill moquitos, flies and moths) and whacked. It immediately falls to the ground stunned by the electric current but no for long.Where I continue to zap it until I could smell it burning and the wasp is laying on the ground like it's scratching itself. But I continued to apply the metal wires to the wasp until it doesn't move where I then squashed it while hearing a cracking sound of victory.

Anyone else have one of these handheld bug zappers?

To the MIL's?

I agree, I think it wanted to get outside. It was tough b/c I couldn't get any advantage on it without breaking or destroying something. For $10 how could I go wrong? I guess I'm tuned into the wrong channels- had never heard of this. Thx for the link.

I have one and I love it for those tiny bugs that come right through your window screens and won't light anywhere to be swatted. It's good for flies too. It's not powerful enough for wasps.

You're right cougar, not too effective for wasps and hornet that's why I continue to apply current to them even when their down and... burn they do.

Wasps and bees are pretty much totally harmless if you don't start molesting them. Just forget about it and if it goes to the window open it up and let it out.

I walked into my house the other day to find half a dozen or so bees buzzing about the living room from a near by nest. They just let them selves out an open window after about 15-20 minutes.

I'd be willing to let them be but my wife is allergic and goes into complete panic.

Thus, I normally use violence...Slippers or flip-flops work well.

I looked up several of the "super" wasp-hornet killers, looks like they're intended for outdoor use. A heavy, solid spray.

Can't say I blame her. Bee allergies can "be" serious business.

Haze,
The dang thing parked on the window latch, right under the lip of the shade. I thought I would stir him up if I made a move on the window, or no?

Note well: you will need rechargeable batteries, and plenty of them if you have many bugs to zap.

You guys amaze me!!! :D
All those little wasps, bees, hornets, and yellow jackets are our friends!! There's no need to be scared of em or to kill em! If one of em gets in your house or car or office, just put you hand under em so they can land on it or walk onto it and then carry em outside! Naturally, that only goes for folks that aren't allergic to their venom!
I carry the little buggers out of the house or garage all the time! I like em so much I consider them my friends!!! :D

Hey Michael ,

See you are a "temporarily retired knife makeer"

Hope to see you back. The "big ugly folder " from you is one that gets a lot of use and is still going strong!
