I just bought the TGLB but like the new NMFSHLE Ganza coming up. On the other hand I'm not crazy about black paper handles and would like some nice G10 instead.
Should I wait until the CG version is offered or jump on this one? What are you guys thinking of doing yourself?
Awesome knife, no doubt, just tryigng to figure out whats best. As of now I'm thinking of waiting and getting the CG in CF finish with pumpkin handles. That sould look pretty neat.

im waiting,,,if they dont make a cg oh well. i know there will be some at the shows eventually.

I would recommend that anyone who ever wanted or missed out on the FBM LE should jump all over this at factory pricing as you are gaining the NM treatment while losing 3-4oz of weight from the slightly shorter length. The LE may even be lighter than the one at the show since it has more grind work done to it and lighter than G10 black paper scales. If the CG is priced at $547 or above, or if it never gets released, then you might as well spring for the satin now and have a really sweet user. For the weight of the knife I would highly recommend the lighter micarta scales over G10 just for looks. That said, I called the shop to find out if I could get one with standard thickness scales so that the knife would actually fit my hand properly and was told no, so I may be passing this one up since my only complaint on my FBMLE is that the magnum scales are too thick with a .32 blade. Of course this isn't much of an issue for those with smaller or less meaty paws and I could always try switching the scales out myself, but for the money I would really like to get what I know would work for me.

29oz with coating and heavy G10

He has a good point there!

Thanks Tim. You just saved me a call to the shop.....I was thinking the same thing.....the NMFSH at blade was just way too bulky and uncomfortable to me. It's weird because my all time favorite Busse is a CGASH-1 with mag scales.....which feels nowhere close to the NMFSH with mag scales. Guess I'll just keep waiting for the NMSHBM.

Not sure anyone from the shop ever mentioned a CG in the future. I'll buy one, but why does this not have beautiful tigerhide micarta??? .... black paper doesn't scream LE to me. I do love the cabs le with blk paper, but I would rather have satin and tigerhide or G10.

I am thinking on passing on this one as I have too many blades that are the same size already. For an LE I would really like tiger or snake handles like the NMFBM and The NMSFNO had, i just think they look better. I will get a cg version if they release it as I always can use another user Busse but for the extra $150 ish I need tiger handles. The satin blades is just too pretty to get all messed up batoning wood and hacking up forest timber. I guess the bushwhacker LE was black handled so I guess this is the new norm for Busses Limited edition.

Never had paper micarta, how does it compare to G10 or Canvas? Does it feel slicker, more like plastic, or more like hard cotton material like the canvas? Never handled one so I'm trying to understand better how it feels and such.

I dont remember, but did they do the BWM LE before the BWM CG?

Sort of in between, warmer and less plastic-y than G10, but much smoother than canvas micarta. You can't really discern any grain or pattern in paper micarta.

(plastic-y is a highly technical term used by all the top polymer chemists)

Maybe Busse should offer more option with linen micarta?

If I had my druthers, then it would be nice to have grit-blasted handles. Tom Krein does it, and it has a nice texture.

I think the bushwacker LE were released at the same time as the CG in the main site. Jerry might just like to mix it up a bit, hopefully;-)

The only thing causing me pause is the choice of handle material. Not that I dislike paper micarta, but because this knife just seems to cry out for (at the very least) black G10.

I guess there is always the possibility of a future Custom Shop rehandling. But then, the extra dollars invested in this may process may be difficult to justify.

I'm 90% on the "Go" side, I've got a little time to sort it out.

Black Paper looks pretty good but it's slick, not much feel or grip. I would like to have seen Micarta on the LE.
