Get Together Picture Thread

Thanks John for having us at your shop and opening your home to us. It was a learning experience to see the process of those tin knives being made.

I had a great time and it was nice to meet other guys from the forums. Now all I need to figure out is how to get off work to come back in Sept.

Just got back home to MI minutes ago. It was a pleasure to meet all of you. I really enjoyed all the great conversation. John, what can I say... you went WAY overboard with all the food and freebies. You're a class act. Looking forward to the next time. mqqn... good call on Sky Harbour. Great steaks and a cool 60's atmosphere. Thanks.

Jeff

Hi Jeff -

Glad you liked Sky Harbor - Maggie and I think that is the best steak in town.

It was really a pleasure to meet you and the rest of the guys.

Please let me know next time you will be in the Peoria area - I'll buy the beer!

best regards -

Thanks for the great pics. Wish I could've been there. My humble opinion is that with more rounded handles, the very first JK knife is a fabulous pattern.

Hi Stomper -

Just wanted to tell you I have already used my Vic Rally a few times - I was helping my wife's uncle move a large plasma tv and it had little feet on it that had a phillips screw on each one that had to be removed.

Out came the Rally and I was done before the uncle could get back with the screwdriver.

For those that did not know, Stomper gave out nice gifts to all that attended his BBQ, and I was lucky to have picked out a package that had the Rally in it!

I now carry it every day in my change pocket.

I just want to say again, thanks for a really fine day John! Also, thank you very much mqqn, for the great hats! I retired my old one! Ha! Ha! The photos came out great! I have some to post too but, I will have to work at that at a later time! I'm going to have to learn how to do it first but, I will get to that eventually! All you people out there that didn't make it to the gathering, really missed out on a great day! The photos say it all! John, as soon as you have a date, let me know, and I will put in the supplies for the Ranch Beans! Can someone else bring the BEANO? Ha! Ha! I'm looking forward to the next one!

Hi Tom

It was a real good time talking to you and Teddy, and seeing your knives!

You are very welcome for the hat - I wanted to get Stomper a jump start on that project.

It made me feel good to see you move your hat pins to your new JK hat!

It was nice that all the fellows put on their hats at the BBQ.

Your ranch beans comment reminds me of the scene from Blazing Saddles when the cowboys are all around the campfire. lol

Everybody had their hats on but me. I was not going to take a chance on getting my new "dress up" hat dirty cooking and grinding! It`s my new official hiking hat.

mqqn - can you kind of walk me through how you uploaded your photos to this thread? Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I'm not mqqn, but if you go to www.tinypic.com you can click Upload to put a picture from your computer up on the internet, and once it has uploaded it will actually give you what you need to copy and paste to put pictures in forums. Other websites exist, but I use that one :P

Thanks Noah -

Tom - I have my own web server account, so I host the pictures up on my server to make them available.

There are many places that will allow you to move your pictures to a web site and then link to them in your posts here.

I found this tutorial posted here - if you have any questions you can post and I will see the questions later this evening.

Thanks NoahL and mqqn for the information on how to upload photos to BladeForum. It looks like the link that mqqn put up there for me will walk me step-by-step through the process, and take care of what I need to learn, once I have some time to spend with it! Right now I am spending most of my time with yard work and gardening, and it is kicking my tail! This stuff used to seem so easy to me! Ha! Ha! It just keeps getting harder by the year!
Thanks again,
Tom
