Ok, so its damn time we come up with a get together. I don't know where or when but I was thinking some time in the fall would be nice. Maybe around early October. This is just a feeler to see if we would even have enough people show up. It would be around TN, KY, OH area I would think. Give me some ideas on what you guys might like to do. Camping, day hike, BarBQ??????? Im thinking we could also have a trade table set up so we can come home with some new stuff.
Ideas please!!!!!!!!!! and lets jump on it so people can make arrangements and get some time off work.

OK, I'll go first. First off, BA, I apologize for throwing you under the bus, but Sally does have a secret detergent to get the tire tracks off the back of your shirt.
I would love to see BA's shop in either operation mode or sleep mode, which ever. The second part of this would be I would probably be limited to about a 2-3 hour drive because with Sally still not up to full speed from the chemo, that would be just about her limit for the day, and we would probably be staying overnight at a local hotel anyway. 4-6 hours of driving and then spending the day with all you jokers would be asking a lot of her right now. The third part would be we could bring a few side dishes, plus maybe get together to get some sort of menu set up and then divy up the list. The fourth part would be a lottery. I have a few items I would be willing to "donate" as prizes, some sharp, some not so sharp. The fifth and final part would be the time of year, and I think Chris hit this pretty well. The temperature and humidity would be down, a fire would be called for (hell, you can't have an "outing" without some type of B/S sit around fire to chit-chat now can we) . . . . .
That should do it for now. Since I am the only one on here at this time, I am going to sign off, go watch some Sports Center and wonder why all you guys half my age are in bed already . . . . ;) ;) :thumbup:

Chris, a get together sounds good, but fairly sure i won't have funds for a trip in October - since I'm already planning one to Alabama in mid-September.
OTOH, if you're not too far out of the way, I might be able to stop and say hi on my trip.
 
Depends on what part of Alabama your going to vic. Its a pretty good haul from here bro.

I'll be near the NE corner of the state, may even take a day or 2 after the campout to visit the cousins over in Macon, Ga before heading back to the middle of the country.
 
Chris, I'm in Bro! October would be perfect for me! I hate the dam heat... and it's hot here
in NC... The humidity blows..lol. TN would be good for me! But hell I don't really care, I'm down
for whatever.... Take a few days off, I own the joint...lol.

Sounds like fun,Chris , but isn't October when EDCF was going to have a TN get to gather. Not sure I can make both of them.
Although it would be fun to invade Bill's place.
 
Hey KFU, if Jason (bakerg2g) lives anywhere near Lake Norman, he could easily become my "newest bestest friend", and host the get together at his place . . . . :eek: :eek:

I do live near Lake Norman and Lake Wylie! In between them both... out in God's Country! It's pretty nice around this way! Too dam hot right now, and humid as hell too! But any other
time it's perfect..imo

I've got two good friends who work at Lowe's corporate in Charlottle, another friend who works at Michael Weinig in Mooresville, & one who just started his own company in Mooresville who used to work at Weinig as well. I have been trying to get down there for the past 5 years, but if it's not work, it something on the personal side of trying to get a week or so off to go. Tim lives about a half mile from the lake, Ranger 561V is sitting in the slip, and I can not get down there to save my a$$ . . . . :grumpy:

I would love to join in, but some festering pustulent rectum in a three-piece suit decided my boss was expendable.

And I'm on-call until further notice.

And no vacation time until after 15Jan12.

Caused me to miss Rick Hinderer's picnic last weekend.

And will keep me away from this one,which I'd look forward to at least as much.

But will be at the next one,maybe in spring.

Gnarly, maybe we can bring the get to gather to you. We would fit in fine with you at work. After all, most of us are certifiable anyway.
 
Hell, I drove to Evansville 6-7 years in a row to bowl pro tournaments, and in my opinion my buddy Gnarly rates above that.
So the question is, can the rest of us get there when it could work out with his schedule . . . heck, why not head to Evansville ???
A good friend of mine owns a millwork fabrication shop called Fabco, Inc. somewhere near there anyway, business w/ pleasure. . . .

I am defiantly down for a get together....my only issue is I wont be able to commit until right before because of work. If you do it and it works out I can come I will be there.
