Hello,

Up until now, I've a worked with 1095 pretty much exclusively. This steel is extremely easy to heat-treat, even for a moron like me, and I've never had any problems doing that. However, I'm currently making a blade out of 440C, and from what I've read here and elsewhere, heat treating stainless is a tricky business that is most easily performed with a specialized oven.

I don't feel up to this task, and I was wondering if there is anybody on here (or anybody could recommend anybody) who would have the equipment and expertise to H/T the blade for me?

Thanks.

I will second Paul Bos. His work is second to none. I have used him several times and never had a problem.

If you want a less expensive route you could use texas knife supply, But Mr. Bos gets my vote. His turn around time is great too, I sent off some knives on a Wendsday and got them back the following Thursday.
