I have a some questions on getting a blade ready for HT. After I get the blade edge to about the thickness of a dime and sand the blade. What else should I look out for? I have read about square edges being bad. Does this mean the edges all the way around need to be touched up? Not rounded over but have the rough edge smoothed out? Anything else that should be done? Also if by chance if they HT it and it comes out a little warped do they try to fix it? It's all new to me as it will be my first time sending one out. Thank you for any help you can give me with this. Thank you. John

I also counter sink my holes, just a little bit, to take the edge off . A slight bit of edge sanding is good, so there is no sharp bits. If you go to a commercial heat treating company you won't get much warpage, but if you do its your job to straighten it.

Frank is bang on about deburring pin holes and edges. I don't think I've seen it lead to a crack, but it can lead to wonky hardness readings. Square edges don't seem to be a problem, but sharp angles cutting into the profile outline make me twitch a bit.

Rob!
