Getting a Carothers Knife

Are the crazy rush sales the only way to get a Carothers Knife? I've heard great things and looked at alot of images and a few videos and would love to try out a Carothers blade ... but I don't have the time to just wait and rush hoping to get one ... so I am wondering if there is another way to get one? Or if I should forget about it and look at a different product.
I'm not here to start an arguement or condem a sale method at all to each their own ... I am just interested in what sounds like a very quality knife and if I have options to aquire one.
 
Secondary market is your only other option. I believe his custom book is at something like 2 years right now.

I advise looking at the buy/sell/trade sticky here in the subforum. That is how I got mine.
 
Thanks I'll try to watch their also ... do you know are you allowed to post "want to buy" posts on the buy/sell/trade subforum here? or only in the normal want to buy subforum for the whole of BF.
 
I'd say abby is correct, the buy/sell/trade tread is the best place to pick up one of the best working tools out there. The price these guys sell them for is just about what Nathan sells them for. But you have to be quick because the demand is so high!
 
OP: you can always ask for someone to consider entering a proxy bid for you. That is well within CPK's accepted bidding rules.

I would like to get my hands on a field knife at some point. Or another model depending on availability.
 
Thanks for the responses ... I will try watching the after market and maybe make a want to buy post and try to find a field knife that way.
 
Thanks for all the replies ... it looks like I'll have to try to watch close but I knew the knives were in high demand and I've heard such good things about them so it's no surprise.
I'll keep an out out and maybe post a want to buy ad soon when I'll be home a little more to watch.
And if all else fails I may take someone up on a proxy buy ... I usually don't do that ... kinda felt I should take the time to do that myself ... but things being hectic lately I may go that route.
I assume the model Im interested in The Field Knife probably goes fast.
 
The Field Knife as we know it currently, is a pattern which has been retired. There may be an FK 2.0 in the works in the future (I would say no sooner than 2018 if it's gonna happen). The only knife which will have the initials FK in it as we go forward for now, will be that 6.5" heavy duty camping knife which has been bestowed the name: CPK-HDFK.
 
That I wasn't aware of ... I may have to look into some of the other offerings they are currently producing of will be in the future and find one of those that might fit my needs. Thanks for letting me know ... I'll keep my eye on the exchange in caseone happensto become available there.
 
Field knife and EDC just popped up on the exchange. Looks like it sold very quick though. No big surprise.
 
Yes, when you offer superior steel and outstanding fit and finish at a VERY Reasonable price these (Carother's) are going to become even harder to purchase in the future IMO! As mentioned in the above posts, these (Exchange, Carother's Buy, sell, trade, and weekly or Bi-weekly sales) are the only way to obtain a Carother's at the present time. Check this thread every few days or so, and maybe in the future Nathan will open up another Pre-order!o_O Good luck:cool::thumbsup:
