Getting a Carothers Knife

Yup, Tommy is the king of the secondary market.

"It's good to be The King" (too bad that this is a family PG-Rate sub for most parts or else I'd post the actual clip... Funny as shyte!):

Oh it at least doubles your sex appeal. It tripled mine.

Owning a Shiv:
Your passport requires no photograph
Superman has pajamas with the CPK logo
You no longer need to wait 15 minutes after finishing a meal before returning to the pool
When a tree falls in a forest and no one is there, you can hear it
Sharks have a week dedicated to the Shiv
You can bowl overhanded
In museums, you're allowed to touch the art
You're allowed to talk about the fight club...

And let's not forget the pinnacle of successes: Owning a Shiv!
Ownership has it's rewards, alllowing you to take a ride on "The Ferrous Wheel"

+1 on waiting for a field knife (~ 4.5" blade) - in delta 3v...

Hoping...

+2 on waiting for a Field Knife in D3V. When people sell them on, they're not overly inflated prices are they?

The upcoming "light" version sounds like an interesting prospect, but given the very apparent demand, it would be wonderful if Nathan could be convinced to do another run of the original...

Hoping.

Oh, and in that elusive perfect world, those of us who haven't been able to snag one yet would have first dibs :-)

I'm not complaining at all. That just means there are a few things going on.
A) The folks that make them possible and the knives themselves are worth it.
B) Those that want them put forth the effort.
C) The community that has sprung up around the company is welcoming, friendly, kind-hearted, genuine, helpful and honest.
D) The competition for the knives is fun, suspenseful and can even be exhilarating.

I have no problem with the sales ... it works for them and the knives are obviously worth the fuss.

I was just hoping there might be an order list to get a chance to own one. I may yet find a day when I can participate or maybe find one in the wild on the exchange and get a chance to get one.

I'm happy to see quality knives and quality makers have success ... however it comes to them.

I used to be in the auto business and was a buyer for several outlets. Going to the auto auctions for was both fun and misery! The fun factor in terms of the proverbial adrenaline rush is at times supplied on the Fridays sales and the best part is that I don't need to hop on planes, be on the road and then inhale a copious and unhealthy amount of exhaust fumes

Then again, I used to make great money doing that. This? Just a hobby :)
