Im getting ready to get a Para.. Im going to head up to Golden and just buy it there.. I think its right up my alley.. G-10, tough blade design, strong lock, not a huge blade length....... Now, Ive seen it it black and digi camo.. I know they made a run of it in Foliage Green w/ D2.. Is that the only way to get the FG?? Are they still selling these?? Ive also seen pics of some with what look like Desert Tan G10.. Is that just bad lighting/exposure of the Green G10?? The basic steel that these come in if I cant get D2 is CPMS30 right?? No biggie for me either way really... Thanks guys..

Color matching:

FG G-10/D2
Black G-10/S30V
Digi camo G-10/S30V

That desert tan was probably the foliage green. It's really an amazing color because in some lights it looks green and in some it looks tan. :)

You also have some choice between blade colors.

FG g10 -with CPM-D2- uncoated blade
black g10- S30V- uncoated
black g10 -S30v -black blade
digi g10 -S30v -uncoated
digi g10 -S30V- Black blade.

And yes the tan g10 you saw was Foliage Green, depending on what you hold it up to and the lighting it can look extremely different, and yes the other steel is S30V.

Here are a couple shots of my FG Para showing different colors with different lighting. The top image best represents it's true color.

In the bottom image it appears more gray under less lighting

OK, Im almost positive I want the FG... Im not sure I care about the D2 over the S30V... Either one will serve me well Im sure... So I guess FG in D2 it is.. Does anyone know if these are still available from the factory store?? They show that they are available on their website.. This guy may just replace my Emerson... hhmmmmmmm... Decisions, decisions... Thanks for the info fellas....

If you live in a humid area where it often gets sweaty and/or wear it in-waistband a lot, then you may want to go S30V for the extra rust resistance. I have both, and you can't go wrong with either.

Yeah. D2 is almost stainless, but not quite. If you do get the D2 and IWB carry, try using the Marine Tuf-Cloth on it before hand.

Course, you could also get a Salt 1 or Pacific Salt for IWB carry. :)
