Getting back in to traditionals

Buck 301 or 303(?) Also Rough Rider has several different styles of stockmans, including sow belly and serpentine, for very reasonable prices. (under $15 - $20)

Thanks everyone for the great suggestions and info. I think I'm gonna save my pennies for some Queens, and something in the GEC line. Might get a few more Case's as well.

Well, that's not very specific!! Can't you at least tell nosey guys like me what's currently at the top of your wish list?!? :D
By the way, I currently have a "thing" for the canoe pattern, and your "found" knife in first post is very appealing!:thumbup:

They haven't been made for years, but the Fight'n Rooster German made stockman came in a 3¾" size, a very attractive package.
You can still find them on the big auction sight if you keep looking. This is a prototype made in 1978, with beautiful brown bone.

If I had to pick a stockman around 3.5 inches for daily carry I would look really hard at the old USA Schrade knives....particularly the 825 which has the same thinly ground California clip. I prefer the 899 (which is similar to the 6318pu as it comes with a punch).

Thanks for the compliment. I like that canoe too. I think the amber bone is an amazing color.

As far as my wish list, I'm interested in the Queen small stockman and the Rail Splitter in brushed buffalo horn, and I'm still trying to find something by GEC that fits my liking. In the mean time I picked up a Case sodbuster today, jigged bone in Purple Haze. I've never owned a sodbuster before, but I dug the color, and the price was right, and I might as well try a new pattern.
