Getting into the pen game

Just wanted to see what everyone's favorites are for EDC, nothing crazy (like the siphon) and pick one out.

Appreciate it guys!

Fisher Space Pen here. With a fine point refill (.09mm).

I'm not super picky about my pens. I prefer click pens. I used to have some nice Rotring's and Lamy's when I was into pens but that was 20 years ago.

For capped pens, I still find it hard to beat a Uni-Ball Roller Fine Point.

I've lost several Fisher Bullet Space pens which is irritating. I still keep one in my pants pocket but at work I carry a Bic Clic Stic in my shirt pocket for daily use. Cheap and plentiful and I think they write great!

I've been using this Boker K.I.D. .50 Cal daily at work since I bought it in 2014. Great pen in my opinion and it has held up great so far.

The first pic was taken when I first got it 7 years ago and I just took the second pic about 2 weeks ago. I'm pretty easy on my pens. That's the reason I haven't lost it yet and probably the reason it still looks nearly new. I always put it back in my pocket when I'm finished using it and I never lay it down anywhere.

These can still be found in various finishes for around $55 - $70 depending on the finish you want. It's not normal size. It's a little shorter than that but I thought I would post it anyway.

I think you'll like it. I bought a black one just in case I lost my grey one but I haven't had to use it yet.

Just a little tip: if the spring on yours is too strong for your liking, you can replace it with a spring from just about any retractable pen. I'm using a spring that I pulled from a cheap disposable advertising pen. Works perfectly, it's super simple to do, and the tension is a little bit lighter than the original spring.

It will take Fisher Space Pen refills if that's your thing but you'll need to use the adapter that comes with the refills. I go back and forth between Fisher refills and Schmidt Easy Flow refills. Can't seem to decide which one I like the best.

Fisher makes pocket clips for the Bullet pens which, if used in shirt pockets, lessen the likelihood of loss IMHO.View attachment 1736590

I tend to lose pens, but my writing suffers badly (coulda been a doctor) if I don't have a good one, so I mostly use uniball micros, mostly because I can get them in decent sized packs for reasonably cheap. Though I do have Kaweko and Lamey fountain pens that I got for my desk when I was taking a lot of notes during distance classes in 2020. I can do ballpoint, but they slow my pace considerably. I have the fisher slim pens in some kits, with waterproof notebooks, not the ideal combo, as the ink does bleed on the waterproof paper, but for outdoor work the compromises must be made. All depends on what your style is I guess.

I had always used the Pilot G2 pens, had enough rewards points at DLT and grabbed a copper Tactile Turn pen, same refills - I love it. I am far from any type of expert on popular EDC pens, but it hits all my notes, and the patina it’s developed looks great.
Thanks..................you just costed me more $$$$$ ;)

Ever seen Baux pens? They are basically aluminum Bic pens. You can pick and choose the colors of the various parts. This one has a titanium grip section. Finding a refill can’t be easier.
